Leeds United fans could soon see the club’s first signing of the summer confirmed, and it’s potentially a very familiar and well-liked face.

The summer transfer window opens on June 1st and for Leeds United, it marks the start of a crucial, and likely a very busy summer for the club, following their promotion to the Premier League under Daniel Farke.

The German has a number of positions he needs to bolster in the summer but it’s looking like the attacking department is the one he wants to bolster most, with links to a number of attacking players since the end of the season.

Leeds United are chasing a number of strikers already with links to the likes of Beto at Everton and Troy Parrott at AZ Alkmaar. There’s also several wide or attacking midfield players linked with Elland Road as well, with James McAtee wanted by Leeds United.

The main man on Farke’s radar right now though seems to be Manor Solomon.

Leeds United increasingly optimistic about signing Manor Solomon

Solomon scored the goal that saw Leeds United win the Championship title this season. But all season long there have been reports that Leeds United want to sign Solomon on a permanent deal, and subsequent reports that Spurs are willing to let the 25-year-old leave despite him scoring 10 goals and assisting 12 more in 39 Championship games for Leeds.

Now, TeamTalk are reporting that ‘Leeds are increasingly optimistic they can secure the permanent signing’ of Solomon. Marseille have been linked with Solomon recently but Solomon’s agent has ruled out the possibility of a move to France this summer.

Lastly, the same report states that Leeds United and Spurs have already discussed a possible deal for Solomon to move to Elland Road, with ‘a figure of around £15m to £20m’ being mooted for the attacker.

What Manor Solomon’s agent has said amid Leeds United transfer battle

Recent comments from Solomon’s agent, Schlomi Ben Ezra, have seemingly given Leeds United a huge advantage in the race to sign Solomon this summer.

Ruling out a move to Marseille, Ben Ezra said about Solomon’s Leeds United future: “De Zerbi sent a message to Manor, but he told him that he could not play for Marseille for political reasons. Manor is having a great time at Leeds, but he’s under contract with Spurs. He likes the Premier League, but in football, you never know… It all depends on what Daniel Levy wants to do.

“Manor likes English football and he’ll prefer the Premier League… But in football, you never know what might happen.”

For Leeds then, it seems like a deal for Solomon now lies at the negotiating table with Spurs. Levy is someone who’s always been open to selling at the right price and if this £15m to £20m price tag is correct then it could be that Leeds United simply have to put money on the table, and Solomon is theirs.
