Premier League giants strike first in Leeds United hammer blow, ‘offer on the table’ for £25m star

Despite promotion to the Premier League still not being a guarantee for Leeds United this season, it looks as though the Whites are drawing up a summer transfer list worthy of a Premier League campaign.

Undoubtedly, Leeds United would need to bolster ahead of a return to the Premier League, two years after they were relegated from the top flight.

And now with the Whites bang in form, three points clear of Sheffield United in 2nd and five ahead of Burnley in 3rd, with 11 games left to play, it’s starting to look more and more likely that they’ll be gearing up for a return to the top flight.

Rather inevitably then, Leeds are being linked with some exciting names ahead of the summer. Right now there’s several strikers linked with Leeds United and a handful of goalkeepers too, with Illan Meslier‘s future uncertain.

Meslier has been criticised by Leeds United fans of late with the Frenchman having made one too many crucial errors in goal this season, the last being in Leeds United’s 3-1 win over Sheffield United.

Leeds United target Aaron Ramsdale has ‘offer on the table’ from Chelsea

One goalkeeper who’s a target for Daniel Farke is Southampton’s Aaron Ramsdale. Leeds United News has been told by transfer expert Graeme Bailey that Ramsdale is firmly on Leeds United’s radar ahead of the summer, with the Englishman looking set for a career third relegation from the top flight this season.

But recent reports have also revealed that Chelsea are interested in Ramsdale. Now, journalist Steve Kay has revealed that ‘there’s an offer on the table for Ramsdale to possibly go to Chelsea’ this summer, after he turned down the move last summer.

Kay said on KS1 TV: “Before he signed for Southampton, at the time, there were so many goalkeepers at Chelsea, and Ramsdale didn’t want that situation, he had that at Arsenal.

“Since then, there’s an offer on the table for Ramsdale to possibly go to Chelsea. Yeah, my indication is that the goalkeepers there, Sanchez and Jorgensen just aren’t up to standard, and it makes a lot of sense.”

Illan Meslier’s stance on leaving Leeds United this summer

After what’s been another testing year for the Frenchman, many might have been forgiven for assuming that Meslier himself might want to take on a new challenge in the summer, and call time at Elland Road.

But it’s recently been revealed that Meslier wants to stay at Leeds United and be the no.1 choice goalkeeper in the Premier League, should Leeds earn promotion of course.

That might pose a difficult decision for Farke who’ll surely need a strong third-choice goalkeeper in the event of promotion, and who might even agree himself that an upgrade on Meslier is needed to stand a chance of staying in the Premier League.

Ramsdale may or may not be an upgrade, in the eyes of many supporters anyway. But if Leeds want him then they’ll need to move if, and as soon as promotion is secured.
