Leeds United, Sheffield United, Burnley, and Sunderland have been the Championship’s standout teams so far this season. But who earns promotion remains to be seen.
For many, though, Leeds United look like the nailed on title winners now, following back-to-back wins including a 3-1 comeback win at Sheffield United last time out.
On Saturday afternoon, Leeds welcome West Brom to Elland Road and a win here will put Daniel Farke’s side another huge step closer towards the Premier League.
But promotion will surely ring the changes to the playing squad in West Yorkshire, with many thinks that Illan Meslier needs replacing.

Leeds United fans want to sign Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford
Amid Leeds United’s links to Aaron Ramsdale, fans have suggested the goalkeeper they want to come in at Elland Road in the summer, with the bulk of Leeds supporters naming James Trafford as their no.1 choice.
“Would much rather have Trafford if Burnley don’t go up,” said one Leeds fan, as opposed to Ramsdale. A similar comment read: “I’d prefer Burnley don’t go up and we buy Trafford.”
“I’d go for the Burnley keeper,” added one Leeds fan. “Just hope Leeds don’t put relegation clauses back in contracts again.”
Others chipped in, saying: “I’d be looking at Trafford if Burnley fail to go up,” and: “If Burnley don’t go up I’d be going for James Trafford.”
There was also a couple of cries for Sheffield United goalkeeper Michael Cooper. “Assuming one of Sheff Utd or Burnley don’t come up, take either,” said a Leeds fan, as another posted: “[Caoimhin] Kelleher, Cooper or Trafford for me.”

Daniel Farke urged to ditch Illan Meslier this summer
Meslier has certainly been a weak link at times for Leeds United this season. And speaking recently, pundit Adrian Clarke urged Farke to replace Meslier should Leeds United earn promotion to the Premier League.
Clarke said: “The ‘keeper, if they do go up, has to go. I don’t want to bury him too much, but he has had a stinker of a season, hasn’t he? He has made too many nervy looking errors. He is capable of brilliance, but you cannot rely on him.”
Recent reports though have suggested that Burnley would want £30million for Trafford who’s also been lined with Newcastle United this season.
But investing in the 22-year-old, who has the most clean sheets in the Championship this season with 25 to his name, could prove very fruitful for Leeds United in the long-term.
