James McAtee left out of FIFA Club World Cup amid Leeds United interest

James McAtee is firmly on Leeds’ radar this summer as the Man City midfielder is looking likely to leave Man City.

Leeds are one of 20 clubs interested in McAtee as the midfielder is certainly a sought-after player after impressing with his limited minutes in Manchester.

A deal clearly won’t be easy, but the Whites will be very keen on acquiring the 22-year-old who is worth £35m.

Well, now a new update suggests that McAtee’s time under Pep Guardiola is firmly over, and it involves the Club World Cup.

With City partaking in the exciting competition this summer, McAtee will instead be playing for the England under-21s, indicating his time with City is at an end.

McAtee can transform Farke’s Leeds side in the Premier League

Farke will know that to succeed in the top flight next season, they need players who will be comfortable in the Premier League.

McAtee is certainly one of those and brings reason why so many clubs are after his signature.

He’s shown this ability in many games this season, but one that stood out was City’s 5-2 win over Crystal Palace in April.

To have a performance like this with the likes of Kevin De Bruyne around you is some feat and proves exactly why Leeds need to pay £35m for him.

Guardiola seems happy to let McAtee leave and the Whites should be the first club on his doorstep.
