The summer window promises to be a busy one for Leeds United whether The Whites gain promotion to the Premer League, or remain in the Championship for a third season.
Leeds still sit top of the table with a three-point gap and a much-superior goal difference over Sheffield United in second, while five points separate Leeds and third-placed Burnley. Promotion looks inevitable.
Should Leeds go up, the club will be under no pressure to sell their best players. But if they do remain in the Championship, an exodus of talent could materialise – with Feyenoord keen on signing Pascal Struijk.
Ao Tanaka, Junior Firpo, Dan James, Wilfried Gnonto and plenty of others are likely to generate interest in the coming weeks and months if Leeds don’t go up – while Illan Meslier remains a target for one big club.

Manchester United still keeping tabs on Leeds man Illan Meslier
Meslier, 25, has endured a difficult season. While he has kept 20 clean sheets in 35 Championship games, the Frenchman has received plenty of criticism. He’s made mistakes against Sunderland, Hull and more.
The likes of James Trafford, Michael Cooper and other Championship stoppers have been much more impressive and yet, TeamTalk say Meslier remains on Manchester United’s radar ahead of the summer.
Manchester United were linked with Meslier in December and that interest remains now. The Frenchman is touted as one of four goalkeepers on their shortlist, alongside Burnley stopper Trafford and Joan Garcia.
| Name | Club | Games | Goals conceded | Clean sheets |
| 1. James Trafford | Burnley | 34 | 10 | 24 |
| 2. Illan Meslier | Leeds | 35 | 22 | 20 |
| 3. Michael Cooper | Sheffield United | 33 | 25 | 17 |
| 4. Aynsley Pears | Blackburn | 34 | 33 | 13 |
| 5. Freddie Woodman | Preston | 34 | 40 | 12 |
Illan Meslier’s stance on Leeds future as 49ers delay decision
Reports emerged this week that Meslier is keen to stay at Leeds if promoted, even if his contract is due to expire at the end of next season. But, the report states that The 49ers are yet to make decision on Meslier.
Bought for £5m, Leeds are likely to make a decent profit on the former Lorient goalkeeper who rejected a move to Chelsea before rocking up at Elland Road. Leeds are scouring the market for an improvement.
Southampton’s England international Aaron Ramsdale is being considered by Leeds, while Liverpool ace Caoimhin Kelleher is also said to be on Leeds’ radar. But for now, Meslier remains the club’s no.1 stopper.
