Leeds United’s true stance on signing Noah Sadiki after Habib Diarra debacle

After Habib Diarra decided to opt for Sunderland over Leeds United, Noah Sadiki has now emerged as the perfect alternative.

The Union Saint.Gilloise midfielder has come up as an exciting player on many clubs’ radar this summer.

Sadiki is known to be a versatile option who is nimble and excellent at tackling, with Leeds potentially getting their own edition of N’Golo Kante, but with a bit more attacking flair as well.

However, Frankfurt are hot on Sadiki’s radar as the 20-year-old could end up snubbing a move to Elland Road.

Daniel Farke will hope this isn’t the case, but after Leeds supposedly bid £8.5m for Sadiki, their true stance has been revealed.

Leeds United’s true stance on signing Noah Sadiki

What the Whites are missing is a strong tackler and someone who can break-up play, as although Ao Tanaka is a good all-rounder he doesn’t really match this description.

Of course, Ethan Ampadu does exactly this, but his reliability at times needs to be questioned after being out injured for a large chunk of last campaign, and adding to this, Sadiki adds a bit of everything, also contributing in the final third.

So this is where the Congolese midfielder can thrive as Sadiki is really exciting Leeds fans, and it’s clear to see why, as Leeds could be landing the full package.

But with it being said a bid is on the table, this isn’t believed to be true as Sadiki has a £17m asking price.

Leeds could no doubt match this, but transfer expert Graeme Bailey has spoken to LeedsUnited.News about the 49ers’ true intentions with the midfielder.

“[Sadiki] is another one they like. There’s clearly a type of player,” Bailey said.

“They want to boss that midfield. I think Diarra was first choice initially, that’s why they went for him. I’m told it’s just conversations and Leeds haven’t made a bid [for Sadiki] and there are a few options out there.”

Leeds target Sadiki looks to be better option than Diarra

Much has been made of Diarra’s decision to join Sunderland, but it won’t be the end of the world.

Thankfully for fans, Diarra won’t face Leeds in 2025 due to AFCON, but that could unfortunately be the same fate for Sadiki if he joins.

Nevertheless, when you compare the two players against one another, there is one element of his game where Sadiki clearly trumps Diarra.

Looking at this, Farke looks to be getting the ultimate midfielder, for £13m cheaper than Diarra’s arrival.

Although nothing concrete has come yet, and no bid tabled, the interest from Leeds is there for all to see.
