Leeds United transfer rumours latest, including updates on Japhet Tanganga, Manor Solomon, and Junior Firpo’s future.

The transfer window officially opened in recent days and things are heating up at Leeds United regarding transfer news and rumours with every passing day of the window.

A busy summer is expected at Leeds as Daniel Farke is aiming to improve several areas of the side that finished on 100 points, with the Leeds squad far from ready ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League.

In the meantime, with a huge few months ahead for Farke and the Leeds hierarchy, here we have taken a look at some of the latest transfer news and the biggest headlines coming out of the club.

Leeds could activate Japhet Tanganga’s low release clause

To sign genuine Premier League quality, it can easily cost a club £30 million or more unless it is a loan or a player’s contract expiring to move on a free transfer.

But there are bargains to be had if you look for them and Japhet Tanganga was one of the best centre-backs at Championship level with Millwall last season.

It’s now been revealed that Tanganga could cost Leeds under £2 million this summer, with a clause allowing him to depart for a Premier League side at a cut-price fee.

The Whites need a centre-back given Max Wober is set to leave and Pascal Struijk has struggled with various injury issues, as well as Josuha Guilavogui departing on a free transfer.

Manor Solomon set to stay at Spurs

Manor Solomon helped Leeds to win the title and return to the Premier League this season, with many expecting a return to Elland Road for him following promotion.

However, there are no guarantees that Leeds will be able to sign Solomon on a permanent basis this summer, which is becoming increasingly apparent.

After such an outstanding season, Solomon will have interest away from just Leeds and could move elsewhere this summer instead.

The alternative is for the Spurs loanee to go back to his parent club. Now, the latest reports state Solomon is set to be retained by Tottenham. Although Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal perhaps throws a further spanner in the works.

Graham Smyth’s Junior Firpo verdict

Junior Firpo’s agents say remaining with Leeds is ‘unlikely’ this summer, and Barcelona and AC Milan could be fresh starts for Firpo on a free transfer this summer.

They are not the only clubs keen on his services when his contract expires, with Lyon said to have offered Firpo a contract and Lazio have also been showing an interest in Firpo after four years with Leeds.

Amidst talk surrounding his future intensifying, Firpo is returning early from international duty, which is sure to spark off more rumours about what happens to him next.

The latest comes via Graham Smyth providing his verdict on Firpo and he believes the left-back is now set for an Elland Road exit this summer, in spite of Firpo joining Lazio now looking unlikely.
