For once in the space of a few weeks, there were not any new players linked with Leeds United as Sunday passed without a new player touted to join Daniel Farke’s newly-promoted side.
However, it was a day when two players who are expected to be moving this summer made it clear what their intentions are in the next few months. One hopefully coming in at Elland Road, another going out.
There were also updates regarding a few previously-linked players – one seeing a contract extension triggered and another now able to leave for the bargain price tag of just £4.25m, to Leeds’ delight.

Jaka Bijol flings door wide open to summer transfer
Less than 24 hours after being linked with a move to Elland Road, Slovenia and Udinese defender Jaka Bijol was discussing his future. The £17m-rated defender is a target for Leeds and both Milan and Inter.
Bijol made it clear that he is ready to leave Udinese, saying: “It is true that I feel ready for this next step, let’s see if it starts this summer. I am happy in Udine. But I would like to make the leap.”
Leeds have made contact and are planning to intensify talks for Bijol next week, in an attempt to steal the centre-back from under the noses of some of Serie A’s biggest clubs. Roma and Juventus are also keen.

Max Wober shares what Leeds have told him this summer
If Bijol was clear in wanting to leave Udinese, Wober was absolutely to the point. It has been a challenging season for the Austrian, who has faced much criticism and undergone two operations on his knee.
But he has managed just nine games all season. Wober told Austrian media that Leeds want to sell him: “Leeds has already made it clear to me that they want to sell me. I don’t want to just rot away in England.”
Perhaps, little surprise. It came after he impressed for 69 minutes during Austria’s 2-1 win over Romania, in which Wober was described as Austria’s “best” player. It is believed Leeds will sell Wober for just £5m.

Julian Weigl price tag and Ben Davies’ Tottenham future update
There were also updates on two players said to be on Leeds’ radar. Julian Weigl is a favourite of Daniel Farke’s, having worked under the German boss at Gladbach. Ben Davies is a long-term target for Leeds.
Well, reports from Germany say that Gladbach would be open to selling Weigl for an extremely cheap sum between £4.2m and £8.4m. Something that would come as a major boost if Leeds are still keen.
Having sacked Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham announced they have triggered a one-year extension in Davies’ contract. As Ben Jacobs recently pointed out, that does not mean they will not sell Davies.
