Leeds United are in the race for a number of positions ahead of the transfer deadline, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the way but with more to follow.

Lukas Nmecha is Leeds United’s only forward signing thus far. Now, the club are looking to bolster their ranks in that area of the pitch further via a free agent.

It’s become clearer in recent days that former Everton man Dominic Calvert-Lewin was a serious consideration for Leeds instead of Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein then confirmed the details of Leeds’ deal for Calvert-Lewin after the two parties struck an agreement and details of how a Leeds and Calvert-Lewin agreement was met have been revealed.

However, Leeds are not done yet. Leeds United News exclusively revealed two players are in talks with Leeds after Calvert-Lewin; they were named as Noah Okafor and James Justin.

Noah Okafor interest ramps up from Leeds

Beren Cross has since confirmed Leeds’ interest in Leicester City’s Justin. However, crucially, he has also revealed the interest from Leeds in Okafor of AC Milan.

Having arrived at RB Salzburg as a young forward, the comparisons to Erling Haaland are obvious. Football.London have described Okafor as “Haaland 2.0” previously as well.

Cross states Leeds are “showing interest” in Okafor and also that he played against them in Dublin on Saturday. Per our info, Leeds are eyeing a move for a wide forward who can also be utilised as a striker.

His goals involvements don’t jump off the page but Okafor has pace and power, which will help Leeds in transition. However, Cross adds that there has been no official approach or club-to-club talks at this stage for Okafor.

He states that the 25-year-old is a player that Leeds are looking at in the final weeks of the window. Leeds will hope to bolster their forward line further before the deadline.

Noah Okafor’s potential price for Leeds United

From a report in Italian outlet Gazzetta last month, Okafor has other interest from the likes of Flamengo, Besiktas, and Bologna. They are also keen and have made enquiries this summer.

There is talk that he could be available for between €12-15 million, which is around the £10-13 million mark. That would be a bargain deal for Leeds potentially, in spite of his average goal return in Serie A.

Leeds want enough flexibility in their squad for different formations and game states, with the ability to play a back five or back four, which is why Okafor makes plenty of sense.

They haven’t been shy of signing versatility for a more adaptable team. Leeds won’t be as dominant next season, meaning imposing their style of play will be far less easy to do when they had the talent advantage in the Championship.
