Leeds United are interested in Emi Buendia of Aston Villa but the transfer deadline of 7pm is looming ever closer.
The move to Aston Villa has not quite gone as planned for Emi Buendia, with Leeds United lurking all summer after Leeds wanted Buendia in January to give him a fresh start and more first-team opportunities.
At the time, Buendia did not want to drop into the Championship. So far this summer, Villa rejected loan interest in Buendia and that has been a stumbling block for Leeds as well.
There have been further updates regarding the 28-year-old, following the statements that Buendia remains one of four Leeds targets for that No.10 or winger role ahead of the deadline.

Villa reject Leeds’ Emi Buendia loan bid despite Jadon Sancho and Harvey Elliott developments
A Villa move for Harvey Elliott could free up Buendia and see Unai Emery sanction a switch for the Argentine to Leeds before the deadline.
That’s because Buendia has been visibly frustrated at Emery in recent months, despite a strong pre-season. Villa’s boss rarely plays Buendia from the start and the same has been true so far this season.
The Telegraph’s John Percy has provided the latest, he says: “Villa on course to finish deadline day with some very impressive business. Jadon Sancho and Harvey Elliott to have medicals ahead of loan moves.
“Villa have turned down a loan offer from Leeds for Emiliano Buendia and decided he will stay.”
It leaves Leeds short after Facundo Buonanotte headed to Chelsea from Brighton and with Villa now set on retaining Buendia’s services ahead of a campaign which includes Europa League games.

Daniel Farke’s view of relegation without at least one more Leeds signing
Despite the update mere hours ago, Leeds will have to pivot again. The latest comes after Farke admitted it will be difficult to survive without at least one signing, per Beren Cross.
Farke has made clear he wants a versatile creative player at the least this summer. Buendia ticked enough boxes in that respect, too.
Since then Farke has doubled down on Leeds needing attacking additions to the 49ers publicly and maybe as many as two more if they are to survive the drop, per BBC reporter Adam Pope.
