Leeds United have reportedly been given the green light to sign a Premier League centre-back on loan after showing interest during the summer.
Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk have started every Championship game alongside one another so far this season but just a couple of injuries could leave them short.
And that could actually be the case going into Saturday’s clash against Oxford United, with the availability of both Struijk and Max Wober in question.
Daniel Farke labelled Struijk as a ‘major doubt’ in his press conference on Thursday due to some hamstring tightness, though the Leeds vice-captain was spotted in training.
Meanwhile, Wober has again felt some knee issues this week and if both are out, it would almost certainly require one of Ethan Ampadu or Josuha Guilavogui to fill in.

Leeds on alert as summer target Andrew Omobamidele could leave Nottingham Forest
Leeds didn’t end up bring in any new centre-backs following Rodon’s permanent arrival, but according to the Daily Telegraph, they did try.
As per the report, Leeds were keen on signing Nottingham Forest’s Andrew Omobamidele in August, but for whatever reason, a deal never materialised.
Omobamidele ended up staying at Forest but such has been the impressive partnership of Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic, he has found game time hard to come by.
With that in mind, Omobamidele could be allowed to leave Forest on loan in January with several clubs already having made him a target.
Given Leeds’ interest in the summer, it will be interesting to see whether they make a move again. That said, the likelihood of him being third choice at Elland Road could mean Forest want to loan him somewhere he is guaranteed game time.
On the other hand, Farke handed Omobamidele is debut at Norwich City and so that previous relationship could give Leeds the upper hand.

Omobamidele deal could depend on Pascal Struijk and Max Wober
Even with the injury doubts heading into the weekend, centre-back still doesn’t feel like a real position of priority for Leeds.
Farke wants a quiet January at Leeds and so the only areas that look like they could be strengthened are either number 10 or striker.
However, that could change if someone departs Leeds next month, and both Struijk and Wober have been linked with moves.
Struijk is wanted by Spurs, while Wober is a target for Red Bull Salzburg. Surely Farke won’t want to upset the applecart by selling anyone important, but Omobamidele would be a decent replacement in any case.
