‘Outstanding’ Leeds United player spotted in training despite ‘major doubt’ claim made by Daniel Farke

Leeds United’s latest inside training video had an interesting inclusion based on what Daniel Farke said in his press conference on Thursday.

Farke was speaking ahead of Leeds’ final match of 2025 at Elland Road in which Oxford United will travel to West Yorkshire looking to end the Whites’ run of eight successive home league wins.

Oxford are hoping to appoint Gary Rowett in time to face Leeds but the clock is certainly ticking for him to be in the dugout this weekend.

That said, Leeds should have more than enough to come away with three points regardless of who is in charge, and pundit Sam Parkin has backed a comfortable home win.

Leeds know that three points will keep them in the Championship’s automatic promotion places regardless of the results at both Burnley and Sunderland.

Pascal Struijk spotted in latest Leeds training video

Farke provided an injury update on his squad in Thursday afternoon’s presser, with Pascal Struijk and Max Wober both potentially joining Ilia Gruev and Junior Firpo on the sidelines.

Wober is still struggling with the knee issue that meant he was an unused sub at Preston North End last weekend after two decent performances against Derby County and Middlesbrough.

Meanwhile, Farke has labelled Struijk as a ‘major doubt’ going into the weekend after feeling some tightness in his hamstring.

However, Struijk has been spotted taking part in training on Leeds’ latest YouTube video seemingly without any issues.

Not only was the ‘outstanding‘ Struijk taking part in the warm-up drills, but he was also heavily involved with the intense ball work Leeds were doing.

Struijk has played every minute of every Championship match for Leeds this season and his absence would be a big blow, particularly if Wober is also likely to be out.

What Farke said about Struijk injury for Leeds

It isn’t 100 per cent clear when this piece of content was filmed by Leeds’ social media team but Farke did say he had to train either today or tomorrow to have a chance.

The video was done in fairly dark conditions which does leave a slight window open for that session to have been this afternoon after Farke’s presser.

Either way, Farke confirmed that Struijk underwent a scan on the issue and his chances of being fit have been rated as 50/50 by the medical staff.

He said: “Some concerns about Pascal Struijk. Tightness in his hamstring, wasn’t able to train yesterday or today. Has to train today or last session. Medical department give him 50-50. Scan, not so bad. Major doubt.”
