Leeds United have primarily been looking at the Premier League loan market this month but are yet to have any luck in strengthening.
The Whites have so far failed to bring in a single player and despite having been willing to be patient for their top targets, time is now very much against them to get deals done.
Having lost Djed Spence and Luke Ayling earlier in the window, right-back has been the biggest priority for Leeds this month. Connor Roberts, Neco Williams and Ben Johnson are just some of the names that have been linked.
However, deals for both Williams and Johnson are almost certainly not going to happen and so at this stage, Roberts feels like the most likely at this stage.
And speaking on the January transfer deadline eve debrief on YouTube, journalist Ben Jacobs has provided an update on Leeds’ pursuit of Roberts, suggesting there is a ‘realistic possibility’ of it getting done.

He said: “I think Leeds will still be very active. They want a full-back, we know there’s interest in Connor Roberts at Burnley, there are a few other teams exploring that possibility as well.
“He has 18 months left on his contract, Brentford could be one to watch and I would keep an eye on Feyenoord. Leeds have a realistic possibility of getting that one over the line.”
As Jacobs mentioned, Leeds are expected to face competition from Brentford and Feyenoord for Roberts, but he is someone they have been chasing all month.
Burnley are said to be open to letting Roberts leave before tomorrow’s deadline, while he would also be willing to make the move to Elland Road to link up with three of his Wales international teammates.
Leeds simply cannot afford to miss out on someone like Roberts in the next 36 hours if they have genuine aspirations of finishing in an automatic promotion spot.
