With the January transfer window growing closer and closer, Leeds United continue to be linked with new names and the latest on Adam Underwood’s radar is a Premier League winger.

Having failed to sign Harry Wilson and Facundo Buonanotte in the final stages of the summer window, the chances are that Leeds will re-enter the market for a creative player that can also be used out wide.

Who do you want Leeds to sign in January? A striker surely has to be the priority!

Especially, with Dan James sidelined until the end of January and possibly even longer. Plenty of possible additions have been touted, Fabrizio Romano claimed Como have rejected a move for Martin Baturina.

Plenty of others have been suggested as possible Leeds targets in the last few weeks, and now there is a new name on the Elland Road radar. One that put a spanner in the works when Leeds tried to sign Wilson.

Leeds United now eyeing Chelsea’s £22m-rated Tyrique George

According to a report from TeamTalk, Leeds are now battling two Premier League rivals to sign Chelsea winger Tyrique George. The England U21 star remained at Chelsea in the summer, after almost leaving.

But George has failed to play more than 500 minutes in all competitions for the Blues. Given all of the games that Chelsea are playing this season, for George to play just 447 minutes is not much at all.

Chelsea have plenty of options out wide, the likes of Pedro Neto, Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho and Estevao all vying to start in the wide positions, among others. Leeds are keeping tabs on George now.

TeamTalk say Leeds are not the only side interested. Fulham would like to finally get a deal for George over the line, while Everton also like George, who has had a hand in 12 goals in 36 Chelsea games.

Fulham almost got him for £22m

When Leeds made a late move for Wilson in the summer, they were told that Marco Silva wanted to make three signings before allowing the Wales star to leave. One of them was a record Fulham deal for Kevin.

Farke admits he wanted Kevin, but Fulham got him. They also wanted Samuel Chukwueze on loan from Milan, and they got their man. But Fulham also wanted to do a £22m deal for George from Chelsea.

However, the move fell through in the final stages and that saw Fulham choose to keep Wilson. They will be delighted they have now, given Wilson is Fulham’s top scorer. George remains back-up at Chelsea.

He’s not the only Chelsea attacker Leeds are eyeing, either. Reports say Leeds are in the mix for Raheem Sterling, with Enzo Maresca confirming this week that “anything can happen” with Sterling in January.
