Leeds United really need to get a move on if they are to stand any chance of getting a meaningful deal over the line, with a lack of concrete links up until this point.
Daniel Farke‘s side sit pretty at the top of the table, but last time out against Burnley was a bore fest, with neither side wanting to risk dropping points on the night.
Nevertheless, Leeds United find themselves in a promising position with promotion to the Premier League very much a possibility.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 29 | 17 | 9 | 3 | 53 | 19 | 34 | 60 | |
| 2 | 29 | 18 | 6 | 5 | 40 | 21 | 19 | 58 | |
| 3 | 29 | 15 | 12 | 2 | 36 | 9 | 27 | 57 | |
| 4 | 29 | 15 | 10 | 4 | 42 | 24 | 18 | 55 |
It’s clear that Daniel Farke isn’t fully convinced by the players he has at his disposal, with five signings ideally being eyed by Leeds before the close of the window.
One thing that won’t make it easy is the competition of other clubs, and that appears to be the case with Cameron Archer.

Wolves join Leeds United in the race for Cameron Archer
Leeds United have already had an offer rejected by Southampton for Cameron Archer, and it’s believed that the Whites will return for the forward.
The Englishman has struggled for minutes at Southampton, which hasn’t helped his season, so a move to Leeds can be seen as an escape route.

However, it’s not just Leeds United in the race anymore, as according to Alex Crook on TalkSPORT, Wolves are also looking to sign a forward and Archer may be a target.
“They want the striker as well I’m told. The striker ideally would be homegrown to help with that quota. I think Cameron Archer at Southampton may be a target, but Southampton are reluctant to let him go.”
Ivan Juric speaks out on Cameron Archer leaving Southampton
Well, as Crook says, it does seem as though it won’t be easy for Leeds to lure Archer away from Southampton, as Ivan Juric is making it difficult.
“I think Cameron is a very good player and a great guy. For him, we’ve changed the style of game a little bit and maybe he’s suffered a little bit.
“But he is working really hard to understand what I want from him. We will see in these [coming] days. I don’t think something will happen. He will stay with us and we will work with him, I think so.”
Wolves’ interest certainly won’t help, but perhaps he will be reluctant to move to the Old Gold given the attackers they already have at their disposal.
