Leeds United have signed Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the striker position this summer already, but Daniel Farke wants more forwards.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will add plenty of physicality and athleticism to the Leeds United forward line, but his goal record in recent Premier League seasons is not particularly impressive.

Leeds’ first Calvert-Lewin contact occurred over a month ago via a phone call directly to the player before the details of Calvert-Lewin’s Leeds deal were confirmed after the two parties struck an agreement.

It’s also been reported that Calvert-Lewin rejected Sunderland in favour of Leeds after it was revealed at one stage of the summer that the former Everton star wanted £150k per week, but the details of how a Leeds and Calvert-Lewin agreement was met have since been confirmed.

Leeds United are reportedly considering Emerdin Demirovic

Also, Calvert-Lewin has since detailed choosing Leeds over Sunderland and other Champions League offers and his reasons for that, as well as hilariously responding to fans on social media in a defence of his decision.

However, Leeds have been tipped to sign more forwards after Calvert-Lewin. There’s been a lot of talk regarding strikers still, in spite of Nmecha and Calvert-Lewin adding to Joel Piroe.

Earlier in the summer, we outlined that Emerdin Demirovic of VfB Stuttgart should be an option for Leeds. Now, he is someone who is reportedly an option for the Whites.

As the lone striker with runners around him, and good deliveries into the box, Demirovic could be exactly what Leeds need in their first season of Premier League football and German outlet Kicker reveals Leeds have shown interest.

They state: “The English club’s willingness to buy could serve as a solution. However, Stuttgart, who invested around €21 million in the international last summer, are likely to demand around €40 million as a basis for negotiations.”

However, there is a concern regarding this deal and other striker deals. Everything is not quite as it seems.

Despite the fact Leeds are still in the market for other attacking players as the final pieces of their squad, Leeds United News has been informed of the latest regarding players like Demirovic and Panathinaikos forward Fotis Ioannidis.

That’s because Calvert-Lewin has been given assurances over being the main man for Leeds, with part of the negotiations for the striker centering around regular minutes in the first-team,

Players like Ioannidis and Demirovic were part of a group of players Leeds ramped up interest on this week, having put the feelers out on numerous options and made enquiries for others when it was then clear Rodrigo Muniz would not happen.

The club have settled on Calvert-Lewin as their decision and are delighted to have him signed up. However, that doesn’t mean that another centre-forward will be acquired. Leeds may sign other forwards in other areas, though.

The Demirovic and Ioannidis information is therefore old and only just now filtering out into the media. The timing of these links is making Leeds fans believe there is another striker coming but Calvert-Lewin is Leeds’ number-nine.
