Leeds United are desperate to bring in a new striker with Cameron Archer a priority on deadline day, but one striker The Whites wanted this month has already picked up a new injury.
Southampton’s Cameron Archer is the one Leeds want to sign. Fabrizio Romano reports Southampton are closing in on move for Victor Udoh and that could help Leeds secure a deal for Archer in the last hours.
Archer though, is the not the only striker Leeds have been linked with this month. Louie Barry has gone to Joe Gelhardt’s Hull City, while a move for Chelsea’s Spanish teenager Marc Guiu has now been ruled out.
Mergim Berisha is another, with Daniel Farke often looking to the German market. Two-time Germany star Berisha was struggling for game time at Hoffenheim after an ACL injury, 18 months after his £12m move.

Mergim Berisha endures nightmare start to Augsburg spell
Leeds were interested in Berisha, a player that Jesse Marsch tried to sign while at Leeds having managed him at Salzburg. Brenden Aaronson and Max Wober know the former Fenerbahce striker very well.
However, Leeds missed out on a move for Berisha with the striker opting to rejoin Augsburg on loan until the end of the season. His first game was a trip to St. Pauli on Saturday, with the two sides drawing 1-1.
But despite signing on January 27, a full five days before the clash against St. Pauli, Berisha was nowhere to be seen. After, Augsburg said on their website that Berisha had suffered a muscle injury in training.

Aside from Archer, what else could happen on deadline day?
Little else, truth be told. The Yorkshire Evening Post report that Dunfermline have had a bid accepted for Leeds’ defender Jeremiah Mullen. The Scotland U21 talent is set for a move to the Championship outfit.
Kris Moore may join him after a recent trial at rock-bottom Premiership side St. Johnstone. There may be a couple of other loan exits in the U21 side, but in terms of the senior team, it looks like Archer or bust.
However, this is Leeds United and this is deadline day. A club that has a BBC podcast named after their antics on the final day of a transfer window. Anything can happen, Leeds fans know that more than most.
