New signings are largely unlikely in the upcoming January transfer window for Leeds United with Daniel Farke already saying he expects a quiet window at Elland Road next month.

Farke has made it clear he is not expecting anything at Leeds but that the club will remain vigilant as The Whites continue to push for promotion. Last season’s January window should remain fresh in his mind.

With Leeds attempting to catch Ipswich behind eventual winners Leicester, The 49ers only sanctioned one signing in the form of Connor Roberts on loan meanwhile Ipswich brought in a number of additions.

Kieran McKenna’s side benefitted from their new signings and eventually held off the challenge of Leeds. The Whites could do with competition for Brenden Aaronson and possibly, guaranteed goals up top.

Leeds United still tracking Swedish striker after summer talks

Joel Piroe remains the club’s top scorer on seven goals but neither he, nor Mateo Joseph have really done enough to prove they can fire Leeds towards promotion. Patrick Bamford is yet to get a league start.

Joe Gelhardt wants to leave Leeds and understandably so, given his lack of game time. The Whites may make a winter move for a new striker then, with Israel international Dor Turgeman on the Leeds radar.

But, another has emerged. Tutto Mercato Web say Leeds are still monitoring Hammarby’s Swedish talent Jusef Erabi. The £8.25m-rated star is also a target for Serie A side Genoa, ahead of next month’s window.

Leeds actually held talks to sign Sweden U21 star Erabi in the summer alongside Norwich but he stayed put. However, the report says Leeds are keeping tabs on Erabi and with Genoa keen, Leeds could move.

Leeds United have dealt with Jusef Erabi’s representatives before

According to TransferMarkt, Erabi is represented by HCM Sports Management. An agency that still has former Elland Road man Jay-Roy Grot on the radar, with the Dutchman now playing his football in Japan.

Grot is not the only name Leeds fans will recognise on the large list of HCM’s clients. Indeed, Sporting Lisbon superstar Viktor Gyokeres is another, with Victor Orta admitting Leeds held talks for Gyokeres.

Another is Dutch winger Noa Lang. Lang was linked with Leeds during Marcelo Bielsa’s era. So, if Leeds do go heavy on Erabi then they will be well aware of those they are negotiating with in terms of his agents.
