Leeds United fans will be hoping for a busy few days in the transfer market as the summer 2025 window nears its close.

Spirits were high at Elland Road after a Lukas Nmecha penalty handed Leeds a win in their first game of the season. However, consecutive poor performances against Arsenal and Sheffield Wednesday have ramped up the pressure on Daniel Farke.

Leeds remain in the market to strengthen, particularly in attack, and have been linked with a string of players in recent days, including Dilane Bakwa of Strasbourg and in-form Getafe forward Christantus Uche.

James Justin became Leeds’ 10th signing of the window when he completed his move from Leicester City earlier in the week. Now, Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth has outlined how many more players Leeds expect to sign in the dying days of the window.

Graham Smyth makes Leeds United transfer prediction

Responding to a fan’s question on the social media site X (formerly Twitter), Smyth gave his verdict on how many more players could move to Elland Road in the current window.

Whilst Farke has previously stated that he would like two forwards, Smyth believes Leeds could settle for just one more addition, in an assessment that will concern fans.

Asked whether Leeds’ transfer business is now concluded, Smyth stated: “Expectation is one attacker in.

“Late window can be mad though. Maybe late opportunities will arise to do more, or there’ll be a late unplanned departure that brings a replacement.”

Which players could leave Leeds before the window shuts?

Smyth’s comment that an unexpected departure could prompt more signings is a welcome message for Leeds fans, who urged the club to do more transfer business following Sam Greenwood’s exit.

Leeds are expecting to move on Largie Ramazani to Valencia and Isaac Schmidt to Werder Bremen imminently, whilst Illan Meslier and Patrick Bamford are also likely to depart during the current window.

Expected Leeds United departures:

However, having been urged to offload Joel Piroe and Brenden Aaronson by pundit Jon Newsome, Daniel Farke could still move to sell more talent from his struggling squad.

None of Leeds’ expected departures will bring in a significant transfer fee. If Farke is to break the bank in this window, Leeds will need to raise the funds to do so from an unplanned departure.
