Moves are being made in the transfer market by Leeds United, and the 49ers are not waiting on anyone.
It’s set to be a busy few weeks around Leeds as the first transfers of the summer are beginning to come to fruition.
Lukas Nmecha’s free transfer was the first, and it seems as though Jaka Bijol’s £18.7m move will follow.
Fans will be delighted to see the owners live up to their promise of spending ambitiously, but now they have to balance out the books.
Many players will seek the exit door as well as arrive, and a Championship club are willing to pinch one star.

Leicester City hope to pinch Sam Greenwood off Leeds United
A player many Whites fans might have turned a blind eye to is Sam Greenwood, after the forward spent the season out on loan with Preston North End.
Since arriving from Arsenal in 2020 for a fee of £1.5m, Greenwood had his chance to prove his worth in the Premier League.
Although he showed glimmers at Elland Road, he’s been loaned out for the last two seasons, and now it’s become clear that Greenwood could leave for £4m.
This has opened up interest in the 23-year-old, who is proving to be a solid option at Championship level.
So much of a solid option that, according to Mail Online, Greenwood has attracted some serious interest.
It’s said that Leicester City are ‘weighing up’ a move for Greenwood as they plot an immediate return to the Premier League, with Ruud van Nistelrooy clearly having the youngster at the forefront of his plans.
The time is right for Greenwood to leave Leeds
Although it’s always a risk to sell younger players who could reach a top level, Daniel Farke might not have any problems with Greenwood.
This comes after an average loan in the Championship with Preston, giving the 49ers no option but to dismiss him from their Premier League masterplan.
| Greenwood’s 24/35 Championship statistics with Preston | |
| Games played | 38 |
| Goals | 5 |
| Dribble success % | 41.8% |
| Duels won % | 36.3% |
| Dispossessed per 90 | 2.07 |
A Preston expert said Greenwood became ‘invisible’ after an impressive start to life at Deepdale
This even led to the forward being involved in controversy, which Farke won’t encourage in his squad.
The Whites will be gaining profit from the deal, and it seems like a win-win with Greenwood’s form steering off course.
