Daniel Farke has reiterated Leeds United won’t panic when it comes to new signings, but competition from sides like AS Monaco will make that difficult.
Farke was speaking in his press conference on Tuesday afternoon ahead of tonight’s Carabao Cup tie with Middlesbrough, where he was again asked about transfers.
Leeds have brought in four new faces so far this summer but their business is far from over, with Farke targeting another three additions.
However, it is now almost a month since Leeds last actually made a signing, which has caused tensions in the fanbase to rise regarding whether they will get the business done.
Leeds now have just over two weeks remaining of the window and just like 12 months ago, it looks like they will be leaving it to the last minute.

AS Monaco enter race for Leeds target Rowe
The message from Leeds before the sale of Crysencio Summerville to West Ham United was that replacements had already been lined up and they would be ready to go.
However, it is now two weeks since Leeds agreed a deal with West Ham to sell Summerville, and yet they are not any closer to bringing in his replacement.
In fact, with Jesurun Rak-Sakyi all but confirmed as a Sheffield United player, some may even consider them further away, with progress minimal on other top target Jonathan Rowe.
Leeds made an initial £7 million enquiry to Norwich City for Rowe at the beginning of last week, but progress on a deal has been very slow since.
And now according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, AS Monaco are the latest side to enter the race for the 21-year-old.
It is said Monaco have already held talks with Rowe’s representatives over a potential move, with Norwich’s valuation set at around £12.8 million.
Aouna also shared an update regarding the state of play on Marseille’s interest, backing up L’Equipe’s claims that a deal is too expensive for them.
He said: “Excl: Monaco have added Jonathan Rowe to their list of options. Discussions have already taken place with his representatives. ASM must first sell/loan a non-EU player before being able to move forward concretely on this matter.
“Norwich wants at least €15m (£12.8m). OM have made an official offer but will not overpay. Deal blocked for the moment. Leeds have positioned themselves.”
Why Leeds could have upper hand over Monaco
As mentioned by Aouna, Monaco will not be able to progress on a deal until they move on one of their non-EU players, which could take a while.
With Marseille also clearly reluctant to meet Norwich’s asking price, that gives Leeds a free run at Rowe for the time being.
If Leeds really are that keen to prise Rowe to Elland Road, they would make the most of the time where they could get ahead in talks.
However, given they are yet to actually make a proper bid, it does raise the question as to how much they actually want him.
