Leeds United have confirmed the arrival of Anton Stach from Hoffenheim, as the giant German signs a four-year deal at Elland Road, in a deal worth almost £20m.

Stach, 26, becomes Leeds’ sixth signing of the summer and the club’s second addition in the middle of the park after Sean Longstaff joined last week from Newcastle. Stach will now join the squad in Germany.

Leeds have paid an initial fee of £17.3m for Stach, plus £2.6m in add-ons. The midfielder, who boasts two Germany caps, becomes the club’s most-expensive signing of the summer so far ahead of Longstaff.

It sees Adam Underwood complete his work in the Leeds midfield, after sorting out the defence. The Leeds guru is now expected to focus on bringing in a new goalkeeper, a left-sided winger and a striker.

Anton Stach shares details of conversation with Daniel Farke

With Stach’s arrival confirmed by Leeds, the club have posted a short interview with the midfielder. In the interview, Stach is asked about how important Daniel Farke was in choosing to join Leeds this summer.

Stach reveals that Farke has already told him how he can improve in preliminary chats before his signing was even deemed definite. Stach says he liked and appreciated the honesty from the Leeds manager.

“He was really important,” Stach said when asked about Farke’s importance to a deal. “Every player needs a good relationship with their manager. They need a manager that trusts them. He showed me the way.

“He told me some things I have to work on and this is what I like. It’s not only, you’re good at this, good at this. We had a good connection from the beginning and that’s why I signed,” Stach continued on Farke.

Leeds show real signal of intent with Anton Stach signing

Not only have Leeds got themselves a giant midfielder that boasts Germany caps for a smidge under £20m, but Leeds have beaten other clubs to land Stach’s signature. Big clubs that posed a serious threat.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to take Stach to Besiktas. A side in European football, trying to battle for the league title. Yet, Farke and Adam Underwood have managed to convince Stach to join a relegation scrap.

That is at least, what is expected of Leeds in the coming months. But bringing in Stach adds a goal threat from set-pieces, huge experience at the top level and a reunion with Lukas Nmecha from Germany duty.
