£12m player is ‘expected’ to leave club before deadline and Leeds United are interested

One of Leeds United’s many targets over the next four days has been given the green light to leave before August 30’s 11pm deadline.

Leeds are in the hunt for a number of new signings during the final week of the window having remained patient for so long for players to become available.

Stuart Dallas suggested earlier this month Leeds had been waiting for Premier League clubs to finalise their 25-man squads before really attacking the market.

Based on the fact Manor Solomon is set to join on loan from Tottenham, Dallas’ theory may well have been accurate.

With Leeds still keen to add at least two, potentially even three more after Solomon, it would not be a surprise if more Premier League fringe players moved to Elland Road.

Bournemouth stance on Max Aarons future amid Leeds interest

Full-back and central midfield remain on the list of priorities for Leeds, as it has done since the second friendly of pre-season, several weeks ago.

It is not yet clear whether Leeds will bring in either a right or left-back due to Sam Byram’s ability to cover both sides. It will probably depend on the quality that is available.

One player Leeds do hold an interest in is Bournemouth’s Max Aarons and talkSPORT journalist Ian Abrahams has now provided an update on the situation.

Abrahams wrote on his Twitter account last night that Aarons will be given the green light to leave the Cherries before the deadline, with Leeds renewing their interest, alongside two Serie A clubs.

Aarons has fallen out of favour under Andoni Iraola with new signing Julian Araujo and long-serving Adam Smith both ahead of him in the pecking order.

Leeds had been close to a £12 million deal for Aarons last summer until Bournemouth swooped in at the 11th hour, but that rejection does not look like it will deter them for a second attempt at signing him.

Aarons will have to accept being second choice at Leeds

The only problem Leeds face in bringing in a new full-back is they will have to come in and accept playing second fiddle, at least early on.

Jayden Bogle and Junior Firpo is very much Leeds’ first choice pairing and that will not change anytime soon unless there are injuries.

Bogle enjoyed his best game in a Leeds shirt at Sheffield Wednesday last Friday, while Firpo is very much among the best in his position in the division.

That said, both players have had injury issues throughout their career and so if Aarons was to come in, opportunities would certainly be there for him.
