Predicted Leeds United XI to face QPR at Elland Road as Daniel Farke rings changes in attack

Daniel Farke opened the door for potential changes to his Leeds United starting XI against QPR in his pre-match press conference.

Farke revealed Leeds have no fresh injury concerns heading into the game despite the short turnaround from Wednesday night’s defeat at Millwall.

However, with less than 72 hours of recovery time, Farke did confirm some ‘late decisions’ would need making, which could see him rotate his side.

Farke is never one to change things too heavily without being enforced, but Leeds’ attacking unit was way off it at the Den and so freshening it up may not be unwise.

Goalkeeper

Illan Meslier could’ve done better with Millwall’s winning goal in midweek but won’t be dropped anytime soon by Farke.

Defence

Leeds’ full-backs Jayden Bogle and Junior Firpo should get considerably more joy going forward against QPR than in midweek, and will start today.

Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk also keep their respective places as the former continues to navigate being just one booking away from a suspension very carefully.

Midfield

Farke brought Joe Rothwell off just under 20 minutes before the end at the Den in order to protect his workload, meaning he should be good to go here.

Ao Tanaka will start alongside him for the seventh consecutive match after being named in the latest Japan squad for the upcoming international break.

Attack

It is in the front four where changes need to be made by Farke and that starts on the wing after Dan James’ disappointing display at Millwall.

James has started the last three matches for Leeds and seems to have overcome that hamstring injury which plagued him earlier in the season, but should be dropped for Manor Solomon here.

Wilfried Gnonto just about keeps his place and should move over to the right-wing, with Brenden Aaronson in the number 10 role.

Joel Piroe has started six matches in a row up front but was poor in midweek and so Mateo Joseph deserves the chance to stake his claim.
