Predicted Leeds United XI to face Millwall as decisions made on Sam Byram and Joel Piroe

Leeds United face the second of three matches in just seven days at Millwall and Daniel Farke must ponder whether to make changes.

The Whites comfortably dispatched Plymouth Argyle 3-0 at Elland Road on Saturday and the ease of that victory allowed Farke to bring off some key players early.

However, Leeds face a short turnaround to this weekend’s match against Queens Park Rangers this weekend, and so some fresh legs could well be useful.

Farke has no fresh injury concerns to contend with heading into the game but late decisions will have to be made on both Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt, though neither are likely to start anyway.

Here is our predicted XI for the match.

Goalkeeper

Illan Meslier had the easiest game of his life against Plymouth but is almost certainly going to face a busier night in goal at the Den.

Defence

The first of Farke’s big selection calls comes at right-back, with Jayden Bogle now back in the squad after serving a one-match ban.

Sam Byram was handed a start in his place, but Bogle had found some real form prior to his suspension and so comes straight back into the line-up.

Pascal Struijk, Joe Rodon and Junior Firpo make up the remainder of the defence, meaning Farke can revert back to the same back four which started each of Leeds’ opening 11 matches.

Midfield

Josuha Guilavogui was handed his Leeds debut from the bench at the weekend and it is physical games like this where he could really prove useful.

However, Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell are firmly Leeds’ first-choice partnership in midfield until Ethan Ampadu makes his return from injury.

Attack

Farke was able to bring off each of Brenden Aaronson, Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto way before the end against Plymouth, meaning all three are very likely to start together for the third match in a row.

Manor Solomon will have to settle for a place on the bench, and if that was to be the case, a start against QPR may be on the cards.

Farke’s only other real selection dilemma comes up front. Joel Piroe has started Leeds’ last five, but tough away games like this haven’t always been too kind for him in his time at the club.

With that in mind, it does feel like the perfect game for Mateo Joseph’s runs in behind and link-up play, but based on Farke’s historic reluctance to change things, it is more likely he opts for Piroe.
