Leeds United and Everton’s rivalry this season seems to have a bit more bite behind it.
Both clubs seem to be at the same stage at the present time, as both Leeds and Everton are aiming to rebuild.
The 49ers have done this nicely so far with seven new additions, but the Toffees have looked to do it by stealing the Whites’ recruitment team in Angus Kinnear and Nick Hammond.
There will be reunions when the two meet on 18 August, but a rivalry in the market has taken place over the last few months, with Kinnear spoiling Leeds’ transfer plans.
To add more fuel to the fire, Everton are signing a player who has a history with the Whites.

Everton set to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall ahead of Leeds United opener
A name many fans will know well is Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
The 26-year-old played a vital role for Leicester City during the 2023/24 season where the Whites went toe-to-toe with Enzo Maresca’s side.
Well now, Dewsbury-Hall is set to meet Leeds for the first time in a long time, as according to Fabrizio Romano, the Chelsea star is close to signing for Everton.
Leeds fans actually wanted Dewsbury-Hall signed as the midfielder would no doubt improve any bottom-half team after joining Chelsea last summer for £30m.
Previously Dewsbury-Hall has praised Leeds, but that’s not what the Whites faithful will remember about the soon-to-be Everton player.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall mocked Leeds United as rivalry set to resurface vs Everton
Even though that Dewsbury-Hall has shown his admiration for Daniel Farke previously, the former Leicester man was up to some antics in the 23/24 season.
Antics that Leeds wouldn’t have appreciated, as the Englishman led chants singing ‘Leeds are falling apart’ after they secured Premier League promotion ahead of the Whites in that campaign.
Of course, the tables have turned with the Foxes now a division below but the midfielder also responded to Georginio Rutter saying Leeds are the ‘best team’ of that season with a thinking emoji, as he clearly didn’t agree.
It’s quite clear after this season Dewsbury-Hall wasn’t very well liked by the Peacocks, and now it’s time for Farke and co to get their revenge on the first Monday Night Football, as the rivals are looking likely to meet again at Elland Road.
