There has been a theme throughout Leeds United’s transfer window, and it stems from a well-known figure.
Angus Kinnear, who was previously Leeds’ CEO, joined Everton this summer as their new project kicks on.
He did a fine job at Elland Road, but the problem is, he just can’t seem to stay away this summer.
Everton and Leeds have been going after all the same names, it seems, starting from Leeds’ interest in Gustavo Hamer, to most recently, Everton holding talks with James McAtee.
This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise with both clubs trying to turn over a new leaf after years of disappointment, but once again, Kinnear wants a Leeds target.

Everton now want Leeds target Neil El Aynaoui
Both could likely be involved in a relegation battle if things don’t go their way, but fans will know Kinnear can be a solid operator.
It seems as though Kinnear preferred the Everton fanbase when leaving, as his eight-year stint in Yorkshire had a controversial ending.
To make matters even more intriguing, the first Premier League game of the season will see Leeds meet their old CEO on what will be a cracking Monday Night Football.
Both fan bases will probably recognise the names coming into each team after both teams’ interest this season, one of which now could be pointing the way for the Toffees.
TEAMtalk are reporting that Everton are now seeking a deal for RC Lens midfielder Neil El Aynaoui.
This comes after Roma’s interest in the midfielder, but more importantly, Leeds want to sign El Aynaoui.
It appears as though once again, the Whites will have a battle with Kinnear on their hands, as both clubs desperately try to search for their next signing.

What Leeds think of Kinnear ahead of Everton reunion
It’s probably quite frustrating that both sides are looking into the same targets, but Leeds have managed to slip through the cracks with some.
Jaka Bijol is certainly someone who Everton would’ve liked, but the Whites managed to sign him effectively without other clubs taking too much notice.
They need to try and replicate this again, as Everton are appearing to be quite frustrating when it comes to these sorts of transfers.
Kinnear will know how Leeds operate, so it always came with risk to let him go to a rival, but the overall feeling on the former CEO is that Kinnear is well ‘respected’ at Leeds.
Ahead of the Premier League opener though, the rivalry begins, but it seems like the disputes have already started from this transfer window.
