If Leeds United decide to look to the future and move on from Daniel Farke, they should consider appointing a Marcelo Bielsa disciple to replace him.
Daniel Farke faces a fight to save his job at Elland Road, with Leeds slipping deeper into the Premier League relegation quagmire.
Leeds’ defeat against Aston Villa only served to increase the scrutiny surrounding Farke, with the 49ers considering his position ahead of a difficult run of games.
With Marcelo Bielsa linked with a return to the Premier League and Carlos Corberan getting back to winning ways, several names from Leeds’ recent era of success are in the frame to replace Farke.
However, if the 49ers do decide to look to Bielsa’s time at Leeds, they should consider an emotional reunion with Pablo Hernandez, after his flying start to life as a manager.
The pressure is mounting on Daniel Farke… should Leeds United sack him?⌛
Leeds United should look to the future with Pablo Hernandez
Leeds fans fell in love with Marcelo Bielsa as his side stormed to the Championship title, playing an attractive brand of football.
However, Bielsa’s personality would not suit the 49ers, who are attempting to bring calm to Elland Road after years of chaos.
But in Hernandez, Leeds could have the opportunity to bring in someone who plays football in the same style as Bielsa, and someone who has admitted that it would be a dream to manage Leeds.
After Castellon’s latest win against Andorra, Diario AS praised Hernandez for displaying his “relentless attacking style, in its purest form,” and Marca complimented Castellon for their ability to play out from the back with ease, despite the wintry conditions.
But the biggest compliment to Hernandez’s style is the reaction of the Castellon fans, with 1,000 fans making the long trip into the frozen Andorran mountains to watch their side’s latest win.

Backing Hernandez to replace Farke would certainly be a gamble. Perhaps he needs more time to cut his teeth before stepping into the Elland Road cauldron as a head coach.
But the man known as El Mago has already worked his magic in this role. Having steered Castellon from a relegation fight into play-off contention, he is proving that his dream of a return to Elland Road may not be far off becoming a reality.

Leeds United hero Pablo Hernandez not getting carried away in play-off race
Speaking to the CD Castellon YouTube channel after his side’s most recent win, Hernandez refused to get carried away by his side’s rapid climb up the La Liga 2 table.
According to Hernandez, all he cares about is his side producing a good performance. After that, their league position will take care of itself.
Hernandez said: “It’s always nice and good to see you, but we still have games to play, a whole round to play, and we’ll see where we end the weekend.
Pablo Hernandez addresses a potential ‘dream’ Leeds United return
“But above all, the most important thing for us is to continue with the dynamics that we have. We have 10 out of 12 points, and that makes us, as you say, climb positions.
“We have to go game by game in this league, in this competition. I think everyone’s experience says you can’t think much beyond the next game because anything can happen, and things change a lot in two or three weeks, so you have to go step by step, game by game.”
