Leeds United attacker Georginio Rutter currently leads the way for assists across the entirety of the Championship.
Rutter’s two assists in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Millwall moved him to the top of the charts, above former Whites left-back Leif Davis, who is enjoying a phenomenal season at Ipswich Town.
Statistically, the 21-year-old is actually the worst finisher in the division but his creative genius has more than made up for that, having setup 15 goals so far this season.
Leeds have arguably the best set of attacking options in the Championship, with three players in double figures, two pushing to be there before the end of the season, and Rutter being the one to link it all together.
And while Rutter is the one who earns all the headlines in terms of assists at Leeds, he arguably has a teammate who is just as good as him, but doesn’t quite have the numbers.
Rutter is the Championship assist king, but Leeds teammate Crysencio Summerville’s creativity is underrated
Crysencio Summerville has enjoyed a sublime season, scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists. He is Leeds’ top scorer, but could’ve so easily had more in his assist column too.
As per Sofa Score, only Huddersfield Town’s Sorba Thomas averages more key passes per game than Summerville. The former has 2.9, with the latter just behind on 2.8.
Many of Thomas’ though, actually come from his set-pieces, as seen in the recent 1-1 draw between the two sides earlier this month.
Summerville, on the other hand, creates much of his danger from open play. On Sunday, he completed five key passes against Millwall but in terms of concrete numbers, he had nothing to show for it.
Many of those were to set the overlapping Junior Firpo up for a cross on the byline, with Summerville managing to get him into good areas constantly.
What’s more, Summerville also actually has an identical expected assists (xA) to Rutter this season with 10.1, according to FotMob. XA is a metric which measures the quality of chances a player is creating.
That means the data is actually showing Summerville should have the same number of assists as Rutter, which is yet more evidence of how good he has been this season.

With all that said, it just shows how much Leeds fans should be enjoying the fact they have seen these two tear up the Championship on a weekly basis this season.
They are the best duo in the league and have been linking up with each other all season, with six of Rutter’s 15 assists coming for Summerville.
Speaking earlier in the season, Summerville spoke about how the two seem to have a telepathic understanding on the pitch together.
He said: “One of my friends from back home, actually played alongside Georginio at Hoffenheim, so when he arrived, I already knew of him and took him under my wing. Since then it’s just clicked between us.
“His quality is unbelievable, he had a difficult time at the beginning, so I tried to help him through it, now he feels at home and our partnership is growing really well.
“Players like Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha took me under their wing when I arrived, so for me, it was only right to do the same for the likes of Georginio and Willy.“
