Leeds United manager Daniel Farke and Burnley boss Scott Parker will renew their rivalry when the Premier League season resumes after the international break.
Daniel Farke and Scott Parker both steered their teams to promotion from the Championship last season as Leeds topped the table and Burnley finished second.
The two managers are specialists in securing promotion to the Premier League, but have both struggled to replicate that achievement in their top-flight careers.
Both Leeds and Burnley are expected to be in a relegation fight this season, ramping up the pressure ahead of this weekend’s game, as Farke looks to improve a poor track record against the Clarets.
However, there is more cause for optimism in his recent track record against Parker, with one result in particular giving Leeds hope ahead of this weekend’s fixture.

Daniel Farke’s head-to-head with Scott Parker
Although both managers are Championship specialists, having obtained a combined six promotions to the Premier League, they have met on relatively few occasions in their careers, according to TransferMarkt.
Their head-to-head record is perfectly matched in the three games between the two managers, with each securing one victory and one drawn game.
Two of those games came in last season’s Championship campaign, as Parker got the better of his counterpart on balance.
Daniel Farke – Record vs Scott Parker
- 27/01/2025 – Burnley 0-0 Leeds
- 14/09/2024 – Leeds 0-1 Burnley
- 24/08/2021 – Norwich 6-0 Bournemouth
Leeds suffered a 1-0 defeat against Burnley at Elland Road before the two sides played out a tense 0-0 draw at Turf Moor, with both sides happy not to lose ground in the title race.
However, Farke has the biggest win in fixtures between the two men, having led Norwich to a 6-0 win over Bournemouth when Parker was in charge. The Leeds manager would be thrilled to pull off a repeat when the Premier League resumes.

Leeds United need to avoid repeat of Burnley smash-and-grab
Parker masterminded a classic smash-and-grab in his only career victory over Farke, as Burnley took the points at Elland Road last season.
Despite Leeds dominating the game, with James Trafford pulling off crucial saves from Willy Gnonto and Ethan Ampadu, as the Whites enjoyed 72% possession according to the BBC.
Burnley scored the only goal of the game, pouncing on an unfortunate slip from Manor Solomon to launch a ruthless counter-attack, which Luca Koleosho finished off.
Speaking at full-time to the BBC, Farke struggled to explain the result, stating, “It’s the most frustrating thing in football when you go back to the dressing room and you can’t explain how you didn’t win.”
He will need to ensure Leeds do not suffer a similar fate in a crucial game at Turf Moor.
