Although Leeds United suffered a very disappointing defeat in the FA Cup against Millwall on Saturday, but there was one obvious positive – the performance of Sam Chambers.
Leeds United have been dumped out of the FA Cup by Alex Neil’s Millwall side, who deservedly progress into the next round of the competition after beating the Whites 2-0 at Elland Road.
Femi Azeez scored twice for the Lions, who came up against a very disjointed Leeds side. Daniel Farke made 10 changes to the XI that beat Coventry City 2-0 in the week.
One change was bringing Sam Chambers into the starting XI for what was his full debut for the Whites, with the academy graduate having come off the bench against Plymouth Argyle earlier in the campaign.

Daniel Farke gives honest verdict on Sam Chambers debut for Leeds United
The 17-year-old started the no.1 position against Millwall. From the off, he looked up for the fight. He looked like a real bright spark for Leeds who were otherwise very leggy and lacking any end product.
Speaking to the press after the game, Farke gave his verdict on Chambers’ performance. He hailed the youngster and praised his ability to pop up in good positions on the pitch, which is something that his no.10 counter-part Brenden Aaronson maybe hasn’t done enough off recently.
Farke said of Chambers: “A player has to adapt to physicality to Championship side. I liked a lot in training his interesting positions – usually scores 10/10. He has this quality. It was a big day for him and a solid performance. We have a promising young man.”

Sam Chambers breakthrough could be bad news for Brenden Aaronson
Aaronson has certainly been a divisive player at times this season. But his numbers are good: the American has eight goals and two assists in 31 Championship outings for the Whites this season.
But playing in a Leeds side that boasts so much attacking threat and quality, should Aaronson be scoring and assisting more? It’s unlikely that Chambers would come into the Championship and make a huge impact, but Aaronson having some growing competition could be good for all.
Farke though was certainly impressed with the youngster and it could mean some more Championship minutes for Chambers in the coming weeks.
Next up, Leeds United welcome Watford to Elland Road for a Championship clash on Tuesday evening.
