Leeds United suffered a fifth defeat in six games on Sunday afternoon despite taking the lead against Aston Villa at Elland Road, and Unai Emery has been speaking about Leeds after full-time.
The pressure has ramped up on Daniel Farke again, after another defeat – only Leeds’ second home loss of the Premier League season. Lukas Nmecha had given the lead, albeit controversially, in the first half.
Who was your Leeds United MOTM against Aston Villa?
Leeds were winning at half-time, but immediately after the break, Morgan Rogers squeezed in an effort at the near post. A super finish, but another example of Ethan Ampadu losing his man in the defensive third.
Then, a foul by Pascal Struijk saw England star Rogers smash home a free-kick from 20 yards. Another loss for Farke and Leeds, and at full-time, fans called for the sack, singing “you don’t know what you’re doing”.

Unai Emery shares what he noticed about Leeds in the second half
Villa are, of course, stern competition and while Farke is being criticised for the defeat, it is still a fact that Villa are a side fighting for Europe. A side that has cost hundreds of millions to put together by Emery.
Speaking in the post-match press conference, Villa manager Emery believes Leeds’ players suffered from tiredness in the second half. The Spaniard felt as though that contributed towards Aston Villa’s victory.
“We started the match poorly, we didn’t get the rhythm we wanted. We didn’t play to our game plan. In the second half, I think they were getting tired. This win is close. But how we showed our mentality.”

Why are Leeds United fans are growing fed up of Daniel Farke?
Needless to say, another defeat piles the pressure on Farke. Leeds are now firmly in the relegation zone and with such a difficult run of fixtures coming up, fans are already consigning themselves to relegation.
That is, unless a change is made. Fans believe the only thing that can get Leeds out of this rut is by bringing in a new gaffer. Much of the criticism around Farke is for his team selection, and his late subs.
Mixed messages involving Daniel Farke after the Aston Villa loss…
Leeds fans were heard singing “make a sub” towards Farke on the hour mark. Even before the match, Leeds fans were fuming with the decision to start Brenden Aaronson, the American struggling once again.
Indeed, LeedsUnited.News‘ player ratings saw Aaronson given a 4/10, joint-worst with Lucas Perri. There are some big decisions required at Elland Road in the next 48 hours and fans want Farke to be one.
