Divisive former Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams has opened up on how he really felt after being consistently booed by fans on his return to Elland Road.
Tyler Adams was a popular figure at Elland Road during his time at Leeds, filling the gap left by Kalvin Phillips’ departure when he joined the club.
However, Leeds were relegated after the man who brought Adams to Leeds, Jesse Marsch, left the club. Adams was one of several players who left the club as they prepared for life in the Championship.
Adams received a hostile welcome from the Leeds crowd in the recent 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, prompting pundit Tim Howard to defend him, suggesting that he would not be worried by the reception.
Now, Adams has addressed the boos from the Leeds fans as he left West Yorkshire with a point on his first game against the Whites as an opposition player.

Tyler Adams opens up on Leeds United reception
Speaking to the Men in Blazers podcast whilst on duty with the USMNT during the Premier League international break, Adams asserted that the boos from the Leeds crowd had not fazed him.
According to the former Leeds midfielder, he took energy from the reception and had enjoyed the experience of returning to the ground that he called home alongside the likes of Brenden Aaronson and former Leeds loanee Weston McKennie.
Adams said: “There’s something about it that I absolutely love. I don’t know what it was. I don’t know if it was being back there.
“I don’t know if it was the energy of the game. I obviously knew what was going to happen, and it was what it was, but I enjoyed every second that I played there, circumstances, what they were, and I left obviously, and then going back there was just, it was just a joy to be back.”
“You have to think 35,000 people in a stadium cheering against you. Like I’m from Wappingers Falls. I don’t know if there are 35,000 people in Wappingers Falls. They had the energy to cheer against me. I love that.”

Only five players remain at Leeds from Tyler Adams’ last game
Injury cut Adams’ one and only full season with Leeds in the Premier League short, as he was limited to just 23 appearances for the club.
His final game in the White of Leeds came in a 2-2 home draw against Brighton under Javi Gracia, as Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison got on the scoresheet.
Harrison is one of only five players from the Leeds squad that day who remain at the club, as he lined up with fellow current Leeds teammate Brenden Aaronson and transfer-linked goalkeeper Illan Meslier in the starting side.
The other Leeds survivors were both on the bench, with Pascal Struijk and Willy Gnonto completing the diminishing list of players who experienced Leeds’ last relegation.
