Former Leeds United defender Tony Dorigo has criticised the Whites for failing a “mental challenge” against Manchester United.
Daniel Farke will have mixed feelings after his side went toe-to-toe with another European contender before ultimately conceding a sloppy goal as they were forced to settle for a point.
The impressive Brenden Aaronson continued his recent resurgence with a crucial goal, which appeared to have set Leeds on course for victory midway through the second half.
However, Lucas Perri was criticised for his role in the equaliser as the visitors hit back just minutes later. This fragility after taking the lead was criticised by Tony Dorigo after the game, as Leeds saw two points slip through their fingers.
What might have been… Who was your MOTM in Leeds’ draw with Man United?
Brenden Aaronson was immense once again 🔥
Tony Dorigo frustrated with Leeds United’s draw with Man United
Speaking to LUTV after the game, Dorigo expressed frustration with Leeds’ inability to hold onto their advantage for an extended period.
According to Dorigo, this is becoming a worrying trend for Farke’s side, and they need to learn how to switch on after they have scored a goal.
Asked if Leeds would be frustrated with the result, Dorigo said: “We will, because we took the lead. I said at the time that the first goal could be really important.
“And then it’s a couple of times this season where we have gone ahead, or we’ve just started the second half, and we just switch off for those first few minutes.
“And once you get ahead, it’s one of those moments as well. It’s a mental challenge just to switch back on and keep going. And we didn’t.”

Leeds United extend impressive unbeaten run
Despite the disappointment of letting their lead slip at Elland Road, this feeling of regret is a sign of how far Farke’s side have come in recent weeks.
By picking up another valuable point against Man United, Leeds extended their unbeaten run to seven games, having picked up five draws and two wins in that period.
Aaronson gets a 9, but duo get 5 out of 10 – do you agree? 🤔
Probably Aaronson's best-ever Leeds display.
According to Opta, in a post on the social media site X (formerly Twitter), this is the longest unbeaten run in the Premier League since David O’Leary led the Whites to 13 games unbeaten from May to November 2001.
If Farke’s side can get closer to the mark set by O’Leary’s Leeds side, they will surely see their relegation worries recede over the horizon in the coming weeks.
