Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson has criticised Lucas Perri for his role in Manchester United’s equaliser at Elland Road.
Brenden Aaronson had appeared to put Leeds on course for a famous home victory when he pounced on a Man Utd defensive lapse to put Leeds 1-0 up.
However, that lead lasted for just a matter of minutes as one-time Leeds transfer target Matheus Cunha pulled the visitors level.
Sebastiaan Bornauw will be disappointed with his role in the goal, having played the striker onside; however, Lucas Perri was also at fault.
Perri’s role in the goal was not missed by former Leeds man Robinson, who criticised the Brazilian for his positioning.
What might have been… Who was your MOTM in Leeds’ draw with Man United?
Brenden Aaronson was immense once again 🔥
Lucas Perri criticised by former Leeds United man Paul Robinson
Speaking on the BBC Radio 5 Live coverage of the game, Robinson was not impressed by Perri’s attempt to prevent Cunha’s shot.
According to Robinson, the Brazilian was in two minds over whether to come off his line to close the shot down, and this gave Cunha the time he needed to pick his spot.
Robinson said: “Lucas Perri runs out as if he’s going to intercept it, but he doesn’t.
“He ends up in no man’s land. Matheus Cunha slots it past the goalkeeper. Man Utd have got themselves back in it immediately.”

Lucas Perri continues to frustrate at Leeds United
Although Perri was not solely to blame for Man United’s goal, the Leeds keeper certainly could have closed the striker down more quickly.
This error capped off another frustrating display for the shot-stopper, who has flattered to deceive since moving to West Yorkshire.
Was Lucas Perri to blame for the Man Utd equaliser? 🤔
Paul Robinson was not happy with the Leeds keeper
Perri had some excellent moments, particularly his superb first-half save to deny Leny Yoro’s powerful effort shortly before half-time.
But his decision-making and distribution remain questionable, as Leeds watched their hard-earned lead slip away far too easily.
