Jayden Bogle was mysteriously absent from the Leeds United squad when Daniel Farke named the side to take on Manchester United in the Premier League.
Daniel Farke made two changes to the Leeds side that took on Liverpool at Anfield, with Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin coming into the starting line-up.
The other surprise change to the Leeds squad saw Sean Longstaff returning to the bench in place of Jayden Bogle, who started on the bench against Liverpool.
Now, Bogle’s absence from the Leeds team to take on Manchester United has been explained following his surprise omission.
Leeds’ starting line-up v Man United – has Farke made the right call?
Two changes…
Why Jayden Bogle missed Leeds United v Man United
Bogle has been linked with a move away from Elland Road in recent weeks, with Everton reportedly holding an interest in the right back.
However, according to a post from BBC Radio Leeds journalist Adam Pope on the social media site X (formerly Twitter), there is nothing sinister behind Bogle’s absence from the Leeds squad.
Pope explained that Bogle has picked up a minor calf injury, which ruled him out of the game against the Red Devils, with no further prognosis on the injury provided.
However, with James Justin impressing against Liverpool, Farke had a more-than-competent replacement to call upon for the derby clash.

Should Leeds cash in on Jayden Bogle and promote James Justin? 💰
Jayden Bogle is a major loss for Leeds United
Although Justin showed at Anfield that he can step into the void left by Bogle’s injury, Farke will be hoping that his right back is not ruled out for a prolonged period.
Bogle has been ever-present for Leeds so far this season, according to FotMob, only dropping to the bench for the game against Liverpool.

Having also played 44 times in the Championship last season, Bogle has been one of the most reliable players in the Leeds squad under Farke.
With captain Ethan Ampadu suspended and Joe Rodon ruled out through injury, the Leeds squad is beginning to feel the strain after the busy festive period.
