Former Premier League striker Tony Cascarino believes he has spotted the secret to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s return to form and fitness at Leeds United.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin had almost become a synonym for wasted potential in recent years, as a run of injuries disrupted his promising Everton career.
However, a change of scenery has worked wonders for the powerful striker, as Calvert-Lewin has fired his way back into contention for England with an impressive run of form.
Although Calvert-Lewin refused to be drawn on his chances of breaking into the England squad, no English player has scored more goals than the Leeds man in the Premier League this season.
Now, Cascarino has claimed that a change in Calvert-Lewin’s training regime appears to be working wonders for the prolific centre forward.

Tony Cascarino believes Dominic Calvert-Lewin is leaner at Leeds United
Speaking to TalkSport, Cascarino explained why he believes that Calvert-Lewin’s new lean physique has helped him rediscover his best form with Leeds.
According to the former Chelsea forward, Calvert-Lewin’s body shape has changed since his move to Elland Road, and he appears to be reaping the rewards.
“I looked at the shape of his body, and it looked like a guy that had been in the gym too much,” Cascarino said: “I don’t know if he’s changed his work ethic around his training, but he doesn’t look as bulky as he once was.
“Because last year, I came in and watched him because Brighton, the press, are very, very close to the dugouts.

“So I’m really close to Calvert-Lewin, watching him. And I’m thinking, his body’s a gym body more than a footballing body.
“Not as flexible. And I don’t know. I’d love to know. I’d love to ask him the question. Have you changed your training programme at Leeds and kept away from that gym? One thing that players do all the time, if they’re injured, they’re always in the gym to keep fit.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin achieves another Leeds United first
The records have been tumbling for Leeds’ prolific number nine in recent weeks, as he became the first player since Mark Viduka to score in five consecutive Premier League games.
Calvert-Lewin also became the first Leeds player in the Premier League era to score in five consecutive games for the club, and the first since John McCole in the 1959/60 campaign.

According to Opta’s Jonny Cooper, Calvert-Lewin also set a more festive record against Palace, by becoming the first Leeds player to score in the final five Leeds matches before Christmas.
With Leeds battling to fight the drop, Daniel Farke will be hoping that his star striker can prove that goals are for life, not just for Christmas.
