Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has addressed his hopes of forcing his way into England’s World Cup hopes after helping inspire another win for his side.
Oliver Glasner identified the partnership between Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor as one that could hurt his side before the game, and that premonition came true at Elland Road.
Leeds fans serenaded Calvert-Lewin with a chant of England’s number nine as he matched Mark Viduka’s 2003 hot streak to extend his goalscoring run to five consecutive games.
Now, Calvert-Lewin has praised the impact of the tactical changes made by Daniel Farke on his personal form, as he looks to break into the England set-up.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin addresses hopes of an England call-up
Calvert-Lewin dominated the first half for the Whites at Elland Road, as he scored two goals to take his tally for the season to seven.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Calvert-Lewin explained why having players around him in Leeds’ new system had helped to unlock his best form, as he said: “I enjoy having bodies around me.
“I think it can be a lonely role sometimes when you’re up there on your own, and sometimes you have to flick it on and chase it and do the dirty bits, really, which I’m more than capable of doing.
“But when you get bodies around you, you can link play and get more of a feeling in the game. And I think that’s why I’ve had the success lately.”
Addressing his hopes of an England call-up specifically, he added: “I don’t get carried away. My job remains the same, whether I’m scoring or not scoring. I continue to do the basics well, lead the line for my team, and the rest takes care of itself.”
