Leeds United fans unveiled their third new Dominic Calvert-Lewin chant in the last week, as their star striker continued his recent run of form.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the catalyst for Leeds United once again, as his first-half brace set his side on course for a dominant victory over Crystal Palace.

The former Everton striker matched Mark Viduka’s 2003 feat by scoring in his fifth consecutive Premier League game, as Leeds’ resurgence continued with arguably the best performance of the season to date.

Calvert-Lewin was razor sharp in the box and was the main beneficiary of the dangerous long throws from fellow Leeds goalscorer Ethan Ampadu.

After the Leeds fans introduced two new chants for Calvert-Lewin against Brentford, they made their feelings clear on his hopes of returning to the England squad on a jubilant night at Elland Road.

Leeds United fans back Dominic Calvert-Lewin for England with new chant

Calvert-Lewin took some time to find his feet at Elland Road after his free transfer from Everton in the summer. However, he is now beginning to show the form that earned him 11 caps for England.

The centre forward has now scored in five consecutive Premier League games for the second time in his career, amid calls for him to be added to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.

Leeds’ fans inside Elland Road made their feelings on his hopes of going to the World Cup perfectly clear in the first half, serenading Calvert-Lewin with a chant of “England’s number nine” as he helped his side to another precious Premier League victory.

With Phil Foden failing to find the net against West Ham, the goal also means Calvert-Lewin is the leading striker in Europe’s top five leagues at the moment, with no player able to match his five-goal scoring streak.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin closing in on career-best season

Having scored just one goal for Leeds as November drew to a close, Calvert-Lewin is now the form striker in the Premier League after an incredible scoring run.

Calvert-Lewin had endured a frustrating period in his final years at Everton, as a lack of form and fitness saw his output in front of goal sharply decline.

The Leeds centre forward has now scored seven goals in the Premier League, including six in his last five games, to move level with his third-highest ever goal return.

Calvert-Lewin has scored more than 10 goals in a season twice in his top-flight career, in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons. If he continues like this, he is on course to challenge his career-high 16 goals in his first year with the Whites.
