The nightmare continues for Leeds United January target as manager reveals devastating news

Although Leeds United didn’t sign anyone in January, there remains a really positive mood among fans, as the club continues to put points on the board.

For Leeds United in 2024/25, there’s now 66 points on the board. Daniel Farke’s side eased to a 2-0 win over Coventry City on Wednesday night to put five points between themselves and Burnley in 2nd.

It’s now just one defeat in the last 18 games in all competitions for Leeds. So whilst one or two January additions would’ve been nice, it can’t be denied that Leeds already boasted a very strong squad.

The summer will surely see a lot of activity in the transfer market, though, whether Leeds are promoted or not. And expect Farke to potentially return for some of his January transfer targets in the pre-season.

One such player is Mike Tresor. The Burnley man was linked with a move to Leeds United but he remains at Turf Moor, where he remains out of action.

Scott Parker confirms devastating Mike Tresor news

Tresor, 25, has become an enigma at Turf Moor. The winger, who was signed from Genk in a £16million dela in 2024 hasn’t featured in the league all season for Burnley, though he did play in their FA Cup clash against Reading in January.

The winger grabbed an assists on his return to the side but again, he hasn’t featured since. Tresor’s Burnley situation is described as very mysterious but now there’s more clarity, with Parker confirming another injury blow for the Belgian.

Speaking to Burnley Express, Parker said: “Probably, yeah. I think that’s probably the case. We probably won’t see Mikey for a little while now.”

Burnley surely ready to sell Leeds United target Mike Tresor in the summer

Tresor remains a player with pedigree, and potential too. Just a couple of years ago he recorded an incredible 24 assists in a single league campaign with Genk.

And speaking ahead of deadline day, Parker opened the door for Tresor to leave Burnley. Now with this latest injury update, all signs point towards Tresor leaving Burnley during the summer transfer window.

Expect Burnley to want to reclaim a lot of the money spent on Tresor, so for Leeds or any other interested party, it won’t be a cheap deal. But it could be a shrewd move for a player with proven ability.

If he can return to fitness before the summer then it could put him in the shop window before the summer transfer window.
