Leeds United will have a long list of players they want to sign going into the final 48 hours or so of the winter transfer window. But if anyone signs is a different question.
Leeds United have so far suffered setback after setback in the transfer market. They’ve barely come close to signing any of their rumoured targets who keep on joining other clubs.
At one point it was reported that Kelechi Iheanacho was set to join Leeds, then later on it was claimed that Leeds were set to sign Matt Targett, though neither player is yet to make the move.
Daniel Farke may face criticism from fans if Leeds don’t sign anyone, and then the Whites end up picking up key injuries in the run in, which would really dent their promotion hopes.
But there remains hope among supporters that some new faces will arrive before 11pm on Sunday. And Leeds may have been given an in to sign Burnley star Mike Tresor.

Scott Parker admits Leeds United target Mike Tresor could leave Burnley
Leeds United have been linked with Tresor for several weeks now. The Belgian attacker, who cost Burnley £16million in 2023, is well out of favour at Turf Moor having yet to make a Championship appearance this season, though he’s not injured.
Earlier in January, the 25-year-old made his first appearance of the season in the FA Cup win over Reading. But Tresor has been left out of the following four matchday squads in the Championship.
Speaking to Burnley Express ahead of deadline day, Clarets boss Scott Parker said of potential outgoings: “Maybe there’s a possibility on certain players who obviously have not had a lot of game time. Yes, there could be an option there.”
But Parker then said that he hopes to keep the squad together in this month’s window, adding: “You never want to lose your best players and we’re in exactly that position. We sit where we do in the league. We’ve done really well at this point. We want to keep this group together as much as we can.”

How Leeds United feel about attacking signings right now
If there was any doubt about the Whites’ attacking quality, it was put to bed on Saturday as Leeds United thumped Cardiff City 7-0 in the Championship.
All along, Farke was thought to be content with his attacking options. And speaking to Leeds United News recently, Graeme Bailey confirmed that Leeds are happy with their options in the final third.
But it can’t be denied that an injury to someone like Joel Piroe would be a real issue, given the lack of depth up front.
Tresor, whilst not a striker, would add depth to the side if nothing else. But he’d need time to get up to speed and so it remains unlikely that Leeds make a move in the final hours of the window.
