The Premier League certainly looks like a market that Leeds United will target for new signings in January, with a number of top flight players already being linked with winter moves to Elland Road.
There could be some comings and goings at Leeds United during the January transfer window as Daniel Farke takes stock on his side following a couple of frustrating performances.
In their last game, Leeds drew 3-3 with Hull City, seeing their lead at the top of the Championship table shrink to a single point as Illan Meslier’s nightmare performance sparked Hull’s comeback.
But there remains defensive issues as a whole for Leeds. And that might explain why Farke’s side have been linked with so many centre-backs in the build up to January, including Ben Godfrey who’s since joined Ipswich Town on loan, and Nottingham Forest’s Andrew Omobamidele.
An emerging target for the Whites is Tottenham Hotspur and Wales’ defender Ben Davies.

Ben Davies says Leeds United is a ‘massive club’
Leeds United are interested in Davies who’s featured just four times in the Premier League for Spurs this season. The Whites were keen on him last January too, and it’s been revealed that Leeds have retained their interest in the Welshman.
A move to West Yorkshire could yet be appealing for Davies who has a couple of good friends already at the club, in Wales teammates Dan James and in particular Joe Rodon, who was with Davies at Spurs.
After Rodon moved to Leeds in a £10million deal from Spurs last season, Davies spoke out about his national comrade and how the move was a great one for him, labelling Leeds a ‘massive club’ in the process.
Davies told WalesOnline: “I think it was a great opportunity to go there, he knew he was going to go there and play a lot of football and play at a massive club with ambitions of going back to the Premier League. He has started so well and he is enjoying it there.”

Ben Davies and Joe Rodon are ‘best mates’
At the same time as Davies discussed Rodon’s move to Leeds, he also discussed his relationship with the Leeds centre-back.
Davies said about Rodon back in 2023: “Very solid, good on the ball. To see him have success at Leeds, it really does make me happy. Joe is one of my best mates, so we speak all the time. He is a really good defender, showing that right now.”
So Leeds signing Davies would not only give Farke a really experienced, tried and tested Premier League and international player, but it could also give him the perfect partner for Rodon at the back.
Pascal Struijk is a target for Spurs and so there might yet be a need for Farke to sign a new centre-back. Davies would definitely be a shrewd signing.
