Leeds United should look to Pascal Struijk as a leader during these pivotal times in the Championship.
He’s only 25, but Struijk has been there and done it when it comes to promotion battles.
Being the longest-serving player at Leeds, the Dutchman knows what it’s like in the crucial moments.
The defender also knows what it’s like to be a part of a club like the Whites, as Struijk has helped Leeds fans in the past.
Now, the centre-back has sent a message to the rest of the squad ahead of the promotion run-in.

Struijk sends ‘important’ message to Leeds United squad
It’s become clear that Daniel Farke has created a team of leaders, following Struijk, the obvious other choice is captain Ethan Ampadu.
Of Course, the Whites defender can only motivate from an off-field position at the moment, with Ampadu set to return in April.
But Struijk has taken on the reigns of the main leader, and speaking to The Mirror, he’s suggested what Leeds must do in the race with Sheffield United and Burnley.
“I think it’s most important we focus on what we do, don’t get distracted by anything else,” Struijk said.
“We know the ability we have, and I’m fairly positive. I feel positive. If we focus on ourselves, if we do our job properly, I’m really positive.”

Struijk must block out transfer noise for Leeds United
Despite being a leader in the dressing room, this doesn’t cover up the fact that there has been interest in the 25-year-old.
Feyenoord and Tottenham want Struijk’s signature, as the defender will have a decision to make in the summer.
If Leeds don’t go up, Struijk will likely search for the exit door, and that’s why the defender must block out the noise for the promotion run-in with eight games left.

Despite the transfer interest, Leeds tying Struijk down is a priority, and that will also be in the back of his mind.
The message is clear from his point of view: focus on yourself and block out the outside noise.
