It’s going to be a telling few months for Leeds United fans on where the 49ers stand with the current Whites squad.

Many players’ futures will be decided, but Daniel Farke, as always, isn’t giving too much away.

Ao Tanaka is ‘very happy’ at Leeds as a new deal could be brewing for the midfielder who has captured the hearts of Whites fans.

On the other hand, Junior Firpo could become a free agent, as the 49ers will have key decisions to make.

However, one deal is a certainty if Leeds gain promotion this season.

The 49ers want to reward Pascal Struijk with new Leeds United deal

Pascal Struijk has been a key component for Leeds’ success in recent years and is proving that once again this campaign.

The centre-back has been a leader for the Whites, and Struijk being dubbed ‘excellent’ comes as no surprise.

But the Leeds defender’s status has been up in the air after Tottenham showed an interest in Struijk.

With this considered, Graeme Bailey has exclusively revealed to LeedsUnited.News about how the 49ers are planning to secure the Dutchman’s future at Elland Road.

“In terms of new contracts, I think Struijk contract will be very high up on the agenda,” Bailey said.

“As soon as promotion is confirmed, they will look at that; that will probably be one of the first ones to do.

“With the interest from Tottenham, it will be Leeds saying he is great, and he’s staying put.

“Struijk will be first in line. They will be rewarding these players.”

Struijk can become a Leeds legend by securing new contract

It’s a status rarely used, but after almost seven years at the club, Struijk is reaching the point of being a legendary figure in Yorkshire.

The 25-year-old is having his best season in the White of Leeds, and a promotion back to the Premier League would top that off.

He’s a clear fan favourite around the squad, and signing a new contract could extend what is already a healthy stay, as Struijk’s current deal has still got until 2027.

The defender has a brilliant connection with the fans as Struijk gestured to help an injured Leeds fan who celebrated the Dutchman’s brace against Sunderland.

With what the 49ers are building at Leeds, Struijk can be at the heart of their project.
