Leeds United are being linked with a surprise move for Galatasaray star Kerem Akturkoglu ahead of the January window – but a mystery club have now tabled a bid to land the Turkey star next month.

Akturkoglu, 25, has been in stunning form for his club this season – having a hand in 15 goals. He has even scored twice in the Champions League, netting twice against Manchester United, home and away.

Reports emerged this week claiming that both Leeds and Lazio have held ‘frequent’ talks over the last two weeks to sign Akturkoglu. But, Galatasaray do not want to sell the winger, at last until the summer.

Leeds are expected to retain an interest in Akturkoglu even if we are unable to sign him in January, with the talent rated at a fee of £13m by Galatasaray. A player that has even impressed Barcelona boss Xavi.

Now, a new update. Turkish outlet Sporx say Galatasaray have received an offer from an unnamed club, with the report stating that German and Italian clubs are interested in signing the Galatasaray attacker.

Mystery club table bid to sign Leeds target Kerem Akturkoglu

If Leeds are to sign Akturkoglu, then they need to make a move quickly. Talks are underway as stated in previous reports – but realistically, is he going to join a side that are in the Championship right now?

Leeds need promotion if they are going to stand a chance in signing him. But they might not get a go at it if Akturkoglu does move on in January. Leeds need to hope that he does remain in the winter window.

Then, gain promotion and have a crack at signing him come the summer window. As things stand, we are some way behind in making a move for the winger – though, he would be a superb signing if we can.
