Leeds United are reportedly in talks to sign Galatasaray attacker Kerem Akturkoglu but our pursuit of the Turkish star may have to wait until the summer – with the SuperLig side unwilling to sell him.
The 25-year-old has been on fire this season. Already, clocking up 15 goals and assists in 27 games – including three in the Champions League, two in the group stages, both against Manchester United.
Reports say Leeds and Lazio are in ‘frequent’ talks to sign the 26-time Turkey star ahead of the January window. But, the report also states that Galatasaray are unwilling to sell Akturkoglu in the winter window.
Since then, it is claimed Leeds will have to spend around £13m to land the Galatasaray star. But, it is still expected that Gala would prefer to keep him – and now, a new twist in the pursuit of the “talented” star.
Team Talk say Leeds’ interest is genuine, and so much so, that if Galatasaray are unwilling to sell him in the January window – then they will retain their interest ahead of the summer, whatever league we’re in.

Akturkoglu is a serious player and despite the club he plays for, he would be a fantastic signing for the club. It remains unclear if Leeds are interested and if the club would do business with Galatasaray.
We have not done so yet, since the murders of Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight in 2000. Harry Kewell has not been forgiven for playing for the Turkish side, even after a spell at Liverpool in between.
So, Leeds must think very carefully before deciding to make a move for Akturkoglu but in terms of his footballing ability – he would be a superb signing. Either flank, 10 role. A bargain at just £13m.
