It was an afternoon of frustration for those of a Leeds United persuasion as Daniel Farke’s men were held to a point by Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road on Saturday.
John Eustace seems to have the measure of Daniel Farke after beating Leeds on all three occasions that he has faced Leeds since Farke took over. One with Birmingham and then two as Blackburn manager.
On Saturday, Eustace had the chance to make that four wins over Farke and Leeds. It looked as if their game plan was working to perfection, as the first 45 minutes saw Leeds fail to produce any big chances.
In the second 45, Leeds only managed a few half chances. Brenden Aaronson should have done better as he curled an effort over the bar while Dan James failed to connect with Manor Solomon’s low cross.

Solomon was taken off on 70 minutes by Daniel Farke. It sparked an angry reaction from Solomon, as the on-loan Tottenham man threw his gloves into the dugout and was spotted shrugging his shoulders.
Tony Dorigo could not believe Solomon had come off, with the Israel star probably the best player on the pitch. After a few hours, Solomon took to Instagram to send a message to Leeds fans following the draw.
He posted on his Instagram story on Saturday evening: “Not the result we wanted to start the year but we go again on Saturday”. Leeds take on Hull away on Saturday, as the Christmas period draws to a close.

So, it was frustration for Leeds fans, for Farke, for Solomon as he was forced to leave the field of play earlier than he had expected and ultimately, frustration that Leeds are only three clear in the table.

Had Leeds held on, they would have opened up a five-point lead as Burnley and Sheffield United dropped points. Burnley could only manage a 0-0 draw against Stoke and Sunderland beat Chris Wilder’s side 2-1.
Next up for Leeds and Solomon, The Whites go to Hull City on Saturday and it will be interesting to see if Farke starts the on-loan Spurs ace after his outburst and that he started against Blackburn on Wednesday.
