Michael Beale has confirmed Leeds United target Glen Kamara will not feature for Rangers at Kilmarnock this evening.
Beale was speaking to Sky Sports News on Friday ahead of their Scottish Premiership opener at Rugby Park, where he also claimed Kamara could have his future clarified in the ‘coming days’.
Kamara has been training away from the group at Rangers for a number of weeks now and has not played a part in any of their pre-season friendlies this summer.
Beale has made it clear throughout the window that Kamara will be allowed to leave Ibrox this summer with Rangers having completed the signing of his replacement earlier this week in former Leeds target Jose Cifuentes from LAFC.
Rangers are set to command a fee of around £5 million for Kamara despite having spent just £50,000 to sign him from Dundee back in 2019.
Beale says Leeds target Kamara could leave in ‘coming days’
Beale has been relatively transparent on the Kamara saga throughout the summer and his latest update would suggest a deal could be finalised next week.
He said: “I expect two or three to go out. Sakala and Kamara are away from the group at the moment discussing some things so there might be some news in the coming days. They won’t be involved tomorrow [today].”
Leeds have been linked with a move for Kamara throughout the summer and as per T4O last month, a deal was even said to be close to completion.
However, it does not appear to have moved forward since then and now a number of clubs from across Europe including Lyon and Borussia Monchengladbach are keen.
One way or another, it feels like this saga will be coming to a head at some point over the next week and it will be interesting to see if he comes to Leeds.
