Leeds United have been heavily linked with a move for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.

However, according to the Scottish Herald, six clubs from across Europe are now in the mix for Kamara, which would surely put Leeds in the back seat for his signature.

It is said Lyon, Stade Reims, Galatasaray, Trabzonspor, Copenhagen and Borussia Monchengladbach are all keen on signing the 27-year-old, who is available for a fee in the region of £5 million.

A decision on Kamara’s future is expected to be made in the coming days, with the Finland international having played no part in pre-season at Ibrox.

In fact, Kamara has been told to train away from the rest of his Rangers teammates so he can focus on securing an exit this summer after a difficult last 12 months.

Euro clubs circle for Kamara, Leeds surely out of the running

Kamara has been on Leeds’ shortlist of midfield targets throughout the summer and as per the Fourth Official last month, a deal was close to completion.

However, it just hasn’t moved forward as expected since then and other clubs are now beginning to circle, who can offer top-flight and in some cases, European football.

Given Leeds’ need for a midfielder, and Kamara having been there and ready to do for so long, it does not feel like this is a deal they are vigorously pursuing.

After such a low-key pre-season, Kamara will require a few weeks to get up to full match sharpness but that did not have to be the case if Leeds were that keen on signing him.

Obviously that could all change, but with new sides in the race and Leeds not really showing any urgency, it is likely they are prioritising other targets.
