Rangers boss Michael Beale has been quoted by the Daily Record as saying that Ibrox maestro Glen Kamara is now training in isolation with his future at the club likely to come to an end – amid reports Leeds want the Finland ace.
Kamara, 27, is keen on a summer exit after four and a half years at Rangers. In that time, after a move from Dundee, he has clocked up 193 games for the Gers. A crucial part of the side that won the 2020-21 league title, unbeaten.
The midfielder, who has 52 caps for Finland, also helped Rangers reach the 21-22 Europa League final – losing on penalties to Frankfurt. Now, he wants to go. Graham Smyth says Leeds are keen, and he has a £5m exit clause.
Now, Beale has given an update on Kamara. He has confirmed that the player is now training by himself at Rangers, with an exit becoming more and more likely. The interest in Kamara is high, and Leeds are among the front runners.
“He’s training in isolation, not with the group, trying to get himself up to speed. There’s a lot in the background with Glen as well, with different enquiries and him talking to different people. It’s best that he’s to the side of the group.
“I’ve got no issues with him on a personal level. The window shuts on September 1 but we’ve got eight or nine games before then. So it will be a long month. I’m sure one or two will leave and maybe one or two more will arrive.”

Leeds could do with another midfielder. Tyler Adams remains at the club and while he is injured, he is still expected to move on if a big club comes in for him. Adam Forshaw, Weston McKennie and Marc Roca have already departed.
Ethan Ampadu has come in. Archie Gray and Darko Gyabi have been promoted while Jamie Shackleton, Lewis Bate and Sam Greenwood are options. There is cover. But an older, more-experienced player in Kamara is a smart move.
